Knowing

KNOWING (D G D G B E, capo 5)

Now that I think about it I hardly feel anything. Now that I know I’ve been thrown and I’m hurtling through the air.

It’s hard to tell if I’m laughing or screaming. Hard to know who is staying or leaving. And never knowing is the worst thing. Never knowing is the worst thing.

Let me know when you plan on leaving. I may as well go with you. I don’t want you to but I won’t tell you not to.

If this could be your last afternoon I think we should take a walk. See that sun through the trees? It’s the same one. That sun through trees is the same sun we saw stand on the sea this morning.

I’ve always known that but I only just thought about. I’ve always seen it but I only just started watching it. And I only just realised how bright it is. Have you ever thought about how bright it is?

And if you know then what is there to worry about? Because if you know, you know it’ll all work out. Maybe when we’ve been around the block you might feel like going to bed and tomorrow we can do the same thing again.
