It shows the way but it can turn you blind. The shadow of a wave is always looming.

 

It’s never far behind. Like sunrise on a Long Nite.

 

I stood on the shore and saw someone I’d lost. We walked into the water.

I wasn’t scared anymore, as we dove under the shorebreak and out past the sandbank.

Out where the sharks roam. Felt like coming home. He said he’s going away.

But he’ll be back one day. And never far away.
