Freedom put my heart in a cage

FREEDOM PUT MY HEART IN A CAGE (E A D F C D)

I know it is not real because they talk about it all the time.

And really would you want to stay when that’s all they’ve got to say? Maybe we should take a walk and listen to the magpies talk. It might make a little more sense.

A baby bird flew through my window and perched atop my teacup and started drinking up all my worries.

And my eyes started to glow. She sang me a song real slow. The wind turned and blew down the street. We spread our wings and flew east. And I smelt the flowers in bloom. Jasmine in the air like balloons. The world turning under our feet. Rivers run like tears down your cheek.

He said: Why aren’t your songs any longer?

I said: They would be if I knew what to say.

I asked him: Where did you go? Why’d you leave me all alone?

He said: You know I wanted to stay but something strong was pulling me away.

Freedom put my heart in a cage.

Freedom put my heart in a cage.
