BOULDERS IN THE RIVER (D A D G G E, capo 3)
Your hands are clean. But your mouth is full. I don’t believe in going back to school.
Your eyes are dry but
your cheeks are wet. I won’t forget that boulders in the river won’t stay
forever.
The grass is green and it stands up straight. They’re always late but never in
a hurry.
And suddenly it’s funny because I am never late but I’m always in a hurry. Maybe I should worry less. I wish I could worry less.
Because boulders in the river won’t stay forever.
Don’t follow the fish,
follow the water. Don’t follow the bird, follow the wind. Don’t follow the
stone, you won’t get far. Follow the path.
Boulders in the river won’t stay forever.
