OUT THERE (E A D G B E)
What’s it like out there? I cannot remember. I cannot recall.
Watching through the door. Everything is changing. The clouds are coming down.
And I thought this day must be ending. It never did. It never did.
I went to sleep and thought they would meet me. They never did.
What’s it like out there. I cannot pretend I remember how it goes.
Walking through the grass. It hasn’t been cut lately. I can’t see my toes.
The mountain melts and falls into our laps. Hold it there. Hold it there.
The mountain melts. We stand and then collapse. Leave us there.
And I see, out there, a figure slowly rising. Standing in the sky.
In between my thumb and forefinger, I can exactly where the darkness meets the light.
